My First Place Cards!!!

I was asked by a friend to make place cards for a wedding rehearsal dinner.  I was a little nervous because I have never made place cards before and I needed to make 30 of them.  Even though I was nervous about the project, they were fun to make and the best part is that my friend loved them.  That is why I love crafting - it is the heartfelt feelings exchanged when you make something for someone and they really appreciate it!!!!

The wedding has a vintage/rustic them with Mason jars and twine, so I wanted to make the place cards complimentary to this theme.  The wedding colors are brown with a pop of yellow, so I wanted to bring the pop of yellow to life in the place cards.  The flowers are handmade by me and because my handwritting is never straight when I write, I chose to print the names using a script font.

The flowers were made using a 5 petal flower punch. I took 3 of the flowers punched, got them wet and crumpled them up, let them dry, then glued them together. They are fun to make!

I hope all of you, my followers/readers, enjoy this project like my friend did!  :)

60 Years! Congrats Grandma and Grandpa!

My grandparents recently celebrated their 60 wedding anniversary!  What an amazing accomplishment and they are so cute together.  They are young love birds at heart!

This is the card I made for them.  I added lots of streaks with ink to give it an antique look and added a flower for a pop of color.

Tip:  Use fabric from an old shirt/sweater to make flowers.  I used a sweater that I couldn't wear anymore - it had a nice hole in it!, for the pink flowers on this card and it turned out great!!!  Great way to re-use something you already have and weren't using!

The stamped sentiment is from Papertrey Ink and the gems are from Creative Charms.
