My First Place Cards!!!

I was asked by a friend to make place cards for a wedding rehearsal dinner.  I was a little nervous because I have never made place cards before and I needed to make 30 of them.  Even though I was nervous about the project, they were fun to make and the best part is that my friend loved them.  That is why I love crafting - it is the heartfelt feelings exchanged when you make something for someone and they really appreciate it!!!!

The wedding has a vintage/rustic them with Mason jars and twine, so I wanted to make the place cards complimentary to this theme.  The wedding colors are brown with a pop of yellow, so I wanted to bring the pop of yellow to life in the place cards.  The flowers are handmade by me and because my handwritting is never straight when I write, I chose to print the names using a script font.

The flowers were made using a 5 petal flower punch. I took 3 of the flowers punched, got them wet and crumpled them up, let them dry, then glued them together. They are fun to make!

I hope all of you, my followers/readers, enjoy this project like my friend did!  :)

60 Years! Congrats Grandma and Grandpa!

My grandparents recently celebrated their 60 wedding anniversary!  What an amazing accomplishment and they are so cute together.  They are young love birds at heart!

This is the card I made for them.  I added lots of streaks with ink to give it an antique look and added a flower for a pop of color.

Tip:  Use fabric from an old shirt/sweater to make flowers.  I used a sweater that I couldn't wear anymore - it had a nice hole in it!, for the pink flowers on this card and it turned out great!!!  Great way to re-use something you already have and weren't using!

The stamped sentiment is from Papertrey Ink and the gems are from Creative Charms.

Wonderful You, Mom!

Happy Mother's Day!!!!  I hope all of you mothers out there are having a wonderful day!  It is absolutely beautiful outside here in Minnesota and I am looking forward to spending some time with my mother and grandmother today.

I made this beautiful card for my mom.  I used all punches and dies to make this card, I find that I can put a card together faster when I don't have to turn on my electronic die-cutter and just use my BigKick instead.

I used gem stickers from Creative Charms (I LOVE Creative Charms!!! BTW - They have great sales and an inventory clearance going on!!!  Stock up while you can!).  The flower punches are from Martha Stewart and everything else is from Stampin' Up!.  Have a wonderful Mother's Day and don't forget to celebrate 'Wonderful You!'

Love You Just The Way You Are!

It's the day before Valentine's day and I am finally getting around to making a couple special valentines.  It took me an hour to make these two fun cards - not too bad for me!  I am in love with both of these little cuties featured on my cards - a sock monkey and a hoppy frog, both of which came from THE Lettering Delights!

The sock monkey craze is nuts!!!  I have a co-worker that is obsessed with sock monkeys, so I made this card for her!  I don't know if I could make a card that would be more perfect for her!  If you want to pick up the SVG of this Sock Monkey, grab the Cutie Patootie SVG set at Lettering Delights.  The stamped sentiment and heart punches are from Stampin' Up!

For the froggy card below, I had to add the wobbly eyes - you can see a side view of them below - they bounce up and down!  Fun, right!  BTW - I got the wobbly eyes at Archivers, they are by TPC Studio.

The froggy is from the Frogs and Kisses SVG set at Lettering Delights!  This SVG set is 50% off thru tomorrow!  Pick it up if you don't already have it.!  The sentiment and heart punches are from Stampin' Up!

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a wonderful Valentine's Day!
